    November 2016

Dear members of the 8th-grade class and their parents and guardians,

I have exciting news: There will be a Grade 8 Washington D.C. trip this coming June.

On the evening of Wednesday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Whitcomb Auditorium, a representative from Capital Tours will be here to explain to parents and students all about the trip. Mrs. Pritchard and I will also be there to explain school policies related to the trip.

District-funded financial aid will be available this year, with a goal of making the trip affordable for every student who wants to go. It is important that all interested families attend this meeting as payment plans, school expectations and meeting dates will all be explained, along with the details of the trip.

Washington D.C. belongs to all the residents of our nation. Great moments of our shared history are celebrated there in monuments and museums. Our unique form of government flows out from the halls and offices that house the three branches of government, a balance that protects our freedoms.

Please join us at 6:00 p.m. on November 16 to learn if this trip is the way for you to celebrate your successful completion of middle school.  I hope to see you all that evening.
