Hello ECC Families!  Well, Spring is finally here, although you can’t tell!  The good weather will be here soon.  We have been very busy at the ECC.

In February, we celebrated Friendship day in PK1!  The students had a great time with different friends from different classrooms.  They also exchanged Valentine’s with their own class for Valentine’s Day.

On March 1st, we celebrated Read Across America Day with many different readers coming in to read to the students.  I dressed up as the Cat in the Hat. It was a lot of fun!  In the morning, the Mayor, Marlborough Police, and Marlborough Fire came in to read in classrooms.  We also were lucky to have a current member of the New England Patriots, Ted Karras, come in and read to the children.  One of the Patriot cheerleaders came with him.  It was a great experience for the students to meet him!  In the afternoon, a representative from the Worcester Braveheart’s baseball team came in with their mascot, Jake the Lion, and read to the students.  It was a fun and exciting day!

The students went on a Bear Hunt at the ECC!  They read the story, “We’re Going a Bear Hunt”, by Michael Rosen.  The staff decorated the school and re-enacted the story step-by-step with the students.  In the end, they all found me wearing a bear costume in the cave!

On March 20th, we had the first annual Art and Music celebration at the ECC.  Julie Baker, the Art Coordinator, spent a day with the students creating beautiful pieces of art to display in the School Committee room.  Meg DeFazio, music teacher at Jaworek Elementary School, lead the students in musical movements.  The parent turnout was great and everyone loved the art and music performance.

It has been a busy couple of months and we are looking forward to Spring!

    Hello everyone,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving break and got to enjoy some much-needed time with your families.  The month of November is going fast as usual.

The ECC is having Literacy Night on Thursday, November 30th from 5:30-7:00.  We will be reading, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, by Laura Numeroff.  We will have fun, interactive activities for the students to do with their families.  I encourage everyone to make it if you can!

The ECC is doing the Holiday Helper again this year for families in need.  Please check out the display in the main office area and see if you could contribute to the event.

On December 20th PK-1 will be having their Winter Celebration in their classrooms.  On December 21st PK-2 will be having their Winter Celebrations in their classrooms.  Teacher’s will be sending information regarding times for each classroom, so be on the lookout for that.

The last day of school before the Holiday recess is Thursday, December 21st.  The students will return for class on Tuesday, January 2nd!
