• Customizing Your MPS Mobile App

How to get the most out of your app!

In September 2017, MPS launched its first-ever mobile app. This FREE app, which is available in both Apple and Android formats, offers fast access to MPS news and announcements, district and school calendars, lunch menus, social media, athletics, contact information, and more. The app is optimized for smart phones and tablets for on-the-go information.

If you haven’t seen it already, please watch our app introductory video.

If you haven’t downloaded the app, do it now!

To learn more about the app’s features and how to customize and personalize the app to get the most out of it, below are step-by-step, icon-by-icon instructions to help you get the most out of the MPS mobile app. Occasionally, what appears on your screen may differ slightly from what's described below, depending on the operating system version you have on your device. The Apple device version reflected in the steps below is iOS 11.0.2. The Android/Google device version is Android 7.0 OS.

    A few items to note:

    • Your app's "home screen" is actually three or four screens that display the app's various icons. Once you open your app, be sure to swipe left or right through the screens to find the icon you need.
    • Although the app functions similarly within the Apple and Android/Google platforms, some of the screen names and symbols differ. For example, the Apple platform generally shows a "gear" to access options, while the Android/Google platform shows "slider bars" to access options - both are located in the upper right corner of the screen. To avoid confusion, steps to customizing both platforms are listed in the resources below.
    • Is English not your primary language? See the bottom of this page to learn how to change your settings so the content displays in your preferred language.
    • If you are following multiple schools in your Activity Stream and/or News feed, it may take a few minutes to populate the feed with updated information when you first open it after not using it for a day or so. Be patient - there's so much good news and information that it may take a while to display it all! You can also try quitting the MPS mobile app and other open device apps, then reopen the MPS mobile app, to help hasten the process.
