    Friday, September 22, 2017, Day F

    • Art Club permission slips are outside the cafeterias and outside room 337. Permission slips are due September 29. We have limited space, so bring them back as soon as possible. Grades 5 and 6 meet on Thursdays with Ms. Goad. Grades 7 and 8 meet on Tuesdays with Mrs. Avalos.
    • Girls Soccer Beat Dudley middle school last night 2-1. Leanne wydom played goal keeper and made 10 saves. Whitcomb had 11 shots against Dudley. Meghan Deneen scored the first goal assisted by Emily Hammond. Meghan Deneed assisted The second goal scored by Ava Vanbuskirk. Courtney Sweeney made an excellent play at end of game dribbling the ball over 50 yards to cross the ball ending up with a corner kick. Please keep trying hard girls. Next game Tuesday home at the high school!
    • Any student not in homeroom at 8:05 will be marked tardy.
    • Cell phone use for calling, texting, or emailing is prohibited. Phones used in these ways will be confiscated and sent to the office and may be retrieved, on a first offense, after school. Subsequent violations will require a parent pick-up. Any digital device may only be used with a teacher's permission. Devices may not be used between classes or at lunch.
    • Students staying after school must be supervised by an adult with knowledge of their presence. This includes the athletic fields.
    • For music students in band, orchestra, and chorus, this is an instrument cycle.
    • Whitcomb Panthers ROAR! How did you ROAR this week? Turn your tickets into your HR teacher before you leave for the weekend so they don’t get lost- we will count again next week! Remember, Whitcomb Panthers ROAR!

  • School Bus

    New Bus Routes


    Dear MPS Families,


    As the summer comes to an end, we wanted to share some helpful information with you regarding school bus transportation for the upcoming 2017-18 school year.

    • New Routes have been posted on our website and found on each school under "Students and Families" and under "Bus Routes/Transportation"
    • Before requesting an adjustment to an existing stop, please review our helpful transportation FAQ. This document is available in three languages and helps establish the guidelines we use when making decisions to adjust bus stop locations.
    • Approved adjustments will not go into effect until September 22nd, 2017.
    • Your contact for all transportation requests/concerns is District Transportation Coordinator Dan Riley. Please contact Dan at driley@mps-edu.org.
    • North Reading Transportation is our contracted provider for transportation services. You can contact NRT at 978-562-5186.

  • Attention parents of students entering 7th grade:

    Seventh graders are required to have specific vaccines as noted on the attached sheets.

    September: 1:30 - 3:30 pm

    • Tuesday: 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26
    • Thursday: 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28

    Clinics are on a first come / first serve  basis.
