Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) Good Citizens Program

The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools that are in good standing with their State Boards of Education. The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have qualities of dependability (which includes cooperation, courtesy and consideration of others); leadership (which includes personality, self-control and ability to assume responsibility); and patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation) to an outstanding degree.

The recipient for the 2017 DAR Good Citizen Award is Brittany Jakubiak.

As the educational leader in each community, the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents has designed an award for academic excellence. These awards will be given to high school students who have distinguished themselves in the pursuit of excellence during their high school careers. The criteria includes their three year cumulative average and rank in class. Only two students are selected. Congratulations to these two students!
