For over 20 years, the Marlborough High School (MHS) has held a science and engineering fair inspiring hundreds of students to explore problem solving, research, inquiry and design. This year, 150 students from grades 9 - 12 worked on their 62 different projects since September 2016, which mirror the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Frameworks and Science Practices. If you asked any one of this year’s participants just how many hours they spent preparing for the culminating event, gazed responses accompanied by smiles were often, “Let’s just say we burned the midnight oil many nights.” And their creative innovative designs are a testament to their dedication and hard work.
This year, the first place awards were given to: Kenny Le - Effect of Storage Temperatures on Anthocyanin Content in Strawberries
and to the team Benjamin Simmons, Juliana Daigle & Abdallah Adam - Outdoor Classroom; Learning Expanded
