Five MHS Students Selected as All-State Musicians
Five MHS students selected as All-State Musicians
Led by Jonathan D. Rosenthal, Gary Piazza and Shannon McNulty, the following students were selected to participate in the 2016-2017 All-State Music Concert:
Kaley Davis / soprano / chorus
Timothy Goliger / tenor / chorus
Noah Ogden / tenor / chorus
Justin Bartlett / alto saxophone / jazz / *highest score in the state!
Matthew Pearl / tenor saxophone / jazz / highest score in the state!
These students will perform with 500 of the most talented student musicians from across the state. They represent excellence in achievement, and therefore are known as Symphony Hall Scholars. These musicians, selected as Symphony Hall Scholars, will take center stage at Boston Symphony Hall on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
To achieve the status of Symphony Hall Scholar, these students must go through two very rigorous auditions, one at the district level, where more than 4,000 students are represented, and then if recommended, they move to the All State audition, where more than 1,000 students compete for the honor of performing at Symphony Hall. All rehearsals will take place at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on Thursday and Friday March 9 and 10.
