About the Francis J. Kane Elementary School

Student Instructional Day:  8:55 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.

The Francis J. Kane Elementary School is located on the east side of Marlborough near the Sudbury line.

It is a comprehensive child-centered kindergarten through grade 5 school enrolling approximately 550 students.

Instruction is focused around standards-based core curriculum aligned to state frameworks, including balanced literacy, mathematics, science and social studies.

Art, music, health/wellness/physical education, library/media and technology experiences are also provided for students to initiate and for student learning experiences and achievements.  

Kane School provides a full array of therapy and special education services.

Mobile classroom computer carts provide internet access, SmartBoard technology is available and many classrooms utilize document camera technology to enhance student learning.  

Second Step social skills program is in all grades.

MCAS before- and/or after-school enrichment/preparation is offered for grade 3 and 4 students.

The PTO is supportive to staff and administration.

Kane has a newly refurbished library.

A “Partnership for Learning” initiative highlights school, parents and students working together for student success.

Math, science, and literacy family events are organized for family involvement.
