PUBLIC CONDUCT ON SCHOOL PROPERTY

The Superintendent of Schools, or their designee is authorized to act under the following Rules and Regulations for Use of Areas Under the Jurisdiction of the Marlborough School Committee.

 

No person shall be permitted on the school grounds while the school day is in session; unless attending the school for school related business.  Visitors must sign in at the front desk of the school and sign out upon leaving. Visitors should not linger or trespass on school property during the school day, including the playground spaces.

 

The playgrounds, play equipment, playing fields and surrounding school grounds are not for public use during the school day without the written consent of the Superintendent or their designee.

 

No person shall refuse or neglect to obey any rule, posted by sign, concerning the use of any area under the jurisdiction of the School Committee; nor shall they refuse or neglect to obey any reasonable direction of a police officer, custodian, or School employee during the time they are on MPS property.

 

No person shall, on property under the jurisdiction of the School Committee,

·         beg or canvass for alms or donations without written permission from the School Committee, Superintendent or their designee,

·         utter any profane or abusive or indecent language,

·         act in an obscene or indecent manner, or in any other manner to disturb the peace;

·         smoke, vape or use any controlled substance,

·         drink or be under the influence

·         have possession of any intoxicating beverage;

·         have any instrument of gambling

·         play any game of chance.

 

The Marlborough Police Department is hereby authorized to enforce all the above rules and regulations.
