Strategic Plan

Imagine Marlborough Public Schools five years from now.

In collaboration with Focused Schools, we are on a journey to develop our district's five-year strategic plan and Portrait of a Learner. We will reflect on the unique aspects of our district and how our work impacts the community. Together, we will define what success looks like for our students, faculty, staff and the community.

Faculty, staff, students and various community members from every building and department will contribute to our strategic plan. With your input, this plan will reflect our collective mission, vision, values and shared goals and priorities as a unified district.

Stay tuned for more ways to get involved—including through surveys, focus groups, public meetings and a steering committee.

Meet Focused Schools

Catch the November episode of Super Saturday! In this episode, Interim Superintendent Jason DeFalco interviews Kerry Purcell, the managing director of Focused Schools. They discuss how MPS will shape the future direction of our schools by creating a new district-wide strategic plan and a Portrait of a Learner.

Complete Our Portrait of a Learner Survey

The Portrait of a Learner outlines the essential knowledge, skills and mindsets that every student should acquire by graduation. Focused Schools is seeking input from alumni, staff, families and community members regarding the characteristics that Marlborough Public Schools should foster in every graduate. This vision aims to ensure that all Marlborough students have the opportunities and support they need to succeed in college, careers, and life.

We encourage everyone to participate in this brief, anonymous survey by Friday, Dec. 19. Your voice truly matters to us!

Join our Steering Committee

Help shape the future of Marlborough Public Schools! The steering committee is a leadership team guiding the development of our Portrait of a Learner and strategic plan, ensuring community voices and data inform the district's direction.
