On March 10, the Marlborough School Committee announced the appointment of Angela House as the new assistant superintendent of teaching and learning.
As previously mentioned, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Robert Skaza will conclude his tenure with the district at the end of this school year. Ms. House's appointment will fill this important role, supporting the district's ongoing commitment to student success and instructional excellence across all schools.
Ms. House joined Marlborough Public Schools in 2012 as an Art Teacher at the 1st Lt. Charles W. Whitcomb School and was later promoted to Assistant Principal. She is currently the principal of 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb School.
"In her time as principal of Whitcomb, Ms. House has proven to be an intentional and visionary leader, effectively guiding our middle school to significant levels of student growth and achievement," said Dr. Jason DeFalco, Superintendent of Marlborough Public Schools. “I’m excited to see her apply those same successful strategies to our district-wide teaching and learning practices.”
Ms. House is a proud graduate of Marlborough High School. She holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State University.
She will complete the current school year in her role as principal and will assume her new position on July 1. A search for a new principal for Whitcomb Middle School will be initiated soon.
