Since 2008, the members of Marlborough High School's Voices ReChoired have shared their passion for music and storytelling through their performances. This close-knit group can often be seen singing in stairwells, dancing in the chorus room or driving around town with their music playing loudly.
You can meet the students and the director of Voices ReChoired, along with special guests, at their annual Winter Concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 18 in the MHS Little Theater. Come and enjoy a Pitch Perfect ending to the 2025 season!
The sessions offered a variety of topics aimed at improving teaching and learning throughout the district. From brainstorming sessions to hands-on activities, we focused on discovering new ways to enhance our schools.

The Term 1 recipients were nominated by teachers, specialists and their entire teams for demonstrating the qualities of Respect, Opportunity, Academics and Responsibility. From perfect attendance to improved attendance, these students are truly excelling, and their teachers are taking notice!
To commemorate this achievement, students and their families were invited to gather in the cafeteria for light refreshments after the ceremony. Thank you to families who joined, and congratulations, Panthers!

Adding to the heartfelt gathering, several special guests, including Mayor Christian, joined us in serving meals, prepared by our outstanding nutrition staff, to students. In a beautiful display of gratitude and respect, students whose families attended took on the role of gracious hosts, serving meals to their loved ones and sharing in the Thanksgiving celebration together.
Thank you to our families and special guests for taking time out during the busy holiday season to join us. Your presence made the day even more special for our students!

It's a wrap! The fall 2025 season for the Whitcomb School boys' and girls’ soccer teams came to a close with an exciting end-of-the-year co-ed scrimmage, followed by a pizza party with delicious slices generously donated by Picco Marlborough.
A huge shoutout goes to Coach Joseph Peltak for their unwavering support and guidance, as well as to our talented student-athletes whose hard work and dedication throughout the season truly shone. Their growth, both on and off the field, has been remarkable this fall!
During the tour, students made several informative stops throughout the school, where they discovered the career-building programs, unique extracurricular activities and extensive athletic offerings available to them when they #ChooseMHS. At each location, current students and staff shared their experiences, providing valuable insights and guidance on the transition to high school.
These annual tours provide a fantastic opportunity for future high school students to explore the possibilities that lie ahead. A huge thank you to the high school staff and students for hosting such an informative and welcoming experience. The future is bright for our 8th graders!
MHS Latin students and 8th graders at the Whitcomb School gathered to pay their respects after Uncle Titus met an unfortunate fate, slipping at the baths and breaking his hip. The atmosphere was a mix of reverence and celebration as they held a grand funeral procession complete with a tibicen, filling the air with mournful melodies. Hired mourners and relatives donned imagines (elaborate masks of ancestors), creating an immersive experience of Roman custom. The highlight of the ceremony was Cornelius's poignant laudatio (eulogy), honoring Uncle Titus before his cremation.
Each year, our Latin IV class performs a unique Roman celebration, and after this remarkable event, we can't wait for what they have in store for next year!
The Whitcomb School kicked off this wonderful exchange with a Welcome Assembly, where our talented Japanese exchange students took the stage to showcase their skills. Interim Superintendent Jason DeFalco, Ed.D., also shared inspiring words to embrace the spirit of this cultural journey. Our guests then plunged into an unforgettable experience, exploring our schools, connecting with our amazing students and teachers and discovering the rich tapestry that makes our city so vibrant and unique.
Their visit was a reminder that this exchange program is not just a trip but a remarkable opportunity to learn from one another and celebrate our diverse cultures, traditions and ways of life. We were truly honored to spend this week with our exchange program participants and look forward to many more years of friendship between our cities!
On Oct. 31, we closed out National School Principals Month with a celebration honoring the seven principals who help shape the culture of our schools.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our principals for their dedication to transforming education and building strong school communities. Together, they exemplify exceptional leadership.
Our student representatives from Whitcomb Middle School have safely returned from an incredible cultural exchange with Marlborough's sister city, Akiruno-shi, Tokyo, Japan.
Under the guidance of Advisor Jen Smith, Co-advisor Andrew Thain and Teaching Assistant Andreia Pontes, student delegates — Logan H., Wyatt B., Lucy L., Brooke K., and Benjamin S. — lived with host families and experienced everyday life in Japan.
From practicing the language and enjoying authentic cuisine to learning local customs and participating in school, their days were filled with unforgettable cultural experiences such as a city tour of Akiruno, traditional paper-making and relaxing at the local hot springs — a true immersion into Japanese tradition and hospitality. They were also recognized by the mayor as honorary citizens of Akiruno.

Celebrated in October, International White Cane Day celebrates the achievements of people who are blind and visually impaired and reminds people that the white cane is an essential tool for independence.
Marlborough Public Schools is proud to recognize our students who use long canes and our vision/braille paraprofessionals, such as Paraprofessional Andreia Pontes, who celebrated White Cane Day with student Benjamin S. for the eighth year in a row.

Newly appointed school committee member Chris DeMeo is the son of a career teacher and comes from a family of educators. For Chris, finding and doing what's most important is what life is all about. Not only is he an active parent to a Marlborough Public Schools student, but he also serves as a PTO member and is involved with Marlborough Youth Soccer.
Now, as he takes on this new role on the Marlborough School Committee, his focus will be on ensuring that every Marlborough kid and family is served and educated with enthusiasm, integrity and authenticity, and nothing less. Chris will serve until December 2027, the remainder of the unexpired term left by the untimely passing of Heidi Matthews.

On Tuesday, advisors Jen Smith and Andrew Thain, who are leading the 2025 exchange program, hosted a breakfast party to say "sayonara" before their trip on Thursday. Our five student delegates practiced their Japanese speeches, while families made final travel preparations. Former advisors and other staff members, including interim Superintendent Jason DeFalco, stopped by with sage advice and encouraging words.
Thanks to the help of Ayako Barnum, a parent volunteer and their Japanese culture teacher, our students, advisors and teaching assistant Andreia Pontes are well-prepared for a week-long immersive cultural experience
