As we prepare to resume classes and begin a new year, it’s a great time to look back on the amazing journey we've had together. Last year was packed with unforgettable moments and milestones across our district. Before we jump into the exciting events and plans coming our way, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and check out some fun highlights that brought our community closer.

All of our achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of everyone in our district. We’ve shared some incredible memories, and we can’t wait to see what adventures and opportunities 2026 has in store for us!

On Wednesday, while students had a half-day of school, our faculty and staff participated in a district-wide professional development day. They dedicated the day to learning, collaborating and enhancing their skills.

The sessions offered a variety of topics aimed at improving teaching and learning throughout the district. From brainstorming sessions to hands-on activities, we focused on discovering new ways to enhance our schools.

Thank you to our presenters for sharing their expertise and to our attendees for their commitment to transforming education!

Our Girls on the Run teams from Richer, Jaworek and Kane Elementary Schools, who worked hard all school year focusing on building confidence and staying active, crossed the finish line stronger than ever at a celebratory 5K in Boston on Nov. 15.

Richer had 28 girls participate in this empowering program, which was made possible by the support of volunteer coaches Brittney Guillotte, Aly Sweitzer, Haylie Taylor and Stefanie Wadman, as well as running buddies Allison Gonska, Paige Miller, Michelle Taylor and Principal Lisa Richards. Some Richer GOTR alums even made an appearance to cheer on our students.

Congratulations to all team members and volunteers. We can't wait for the spring season!

Meet your newest Marlborough School Committee member!

Newly appointed school committee member Chris DeMeo is the son of a career teacher and comes from a family of educators. For Chris, finding and doing what's most important is what life is all about. Not only is he an active parent to a Marlborough Public Schools student, but he also serves as a PTO member and is involved with Marlborough Youth Soccer.

Now, as he takes on this new role on the Marlborough School Committee, his focus will be on ensuring that every Marlborough kid and family is served and educated with enthusiasm, integrity and authenticity, and nothing less. Chris will serve until December 2027, the remainder of the unexpired term left by the untimely passing of Heidi Matthews.
