🦃✨ Check out the incredible "Thankful Turkey" display in the main hall at MHS! 🦃✨
Our students came together to create this heartwarming collage with the message: “We are thankful for our MHS Staff!” Each feather is filled with handwritten notes from students, expressing their gratitude to the faculty members who’ve made a meaningful impact on their lives. 💙🍂
This display is a beautiful reminder of the strong bonds between our students and staff, especially during this season of gratitude. 🙌

Speaking of #TheMHSEdge and unique opportunities for our high schoolers...
This past Friday, November 1st, Business/IT Teacher & BPA Advisor Ms. Jayne Haley brought 16 students to Bentley University for the "𝐈𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞?" conference. Students explored the CPA career path through interactive activities, panel discussions, and a networking lunch with accounting professionals.
✨ Fun fact: Ms. Haley is a proud Bentley alum! 🎓

Four of our Marlborough High School BPA officers recently attended the BPA Fall Leadership Conference at the AC Marriott in Worcester on October 30th! 🎉 This dynamic event focused on building essential soft skills, with interactive workshops that covered:
🗣️ 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐔𝐩! Led by the State Officer Team, this workshop brought fun and engaging activities to boost confidence and develop public speaking skills.
🌍 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬: DE&I is more than a trend—it’s a practice. Stephanie shared practical tips on creating inclusive spaces, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued.
💼 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: Great leaders come in all styles! This session explored diverse leadership approaches, helping attendees discover their strengths and adapt to different situations.

Today, our Whitcomb staff proudly participated in White Cane Safety Day, raising awareness and advocating for individuals with visual disabilities. This district-wide effort highlights our commitment to inclusivity and support for all.

Today, students and staff across Marlborough Public Schools came together to raise awareness for White Cane Safety Day. Students wore white in solidarity, while staff members who pre-ordered special blue shirts proudly showed their support.
The first photo shows the group of participants at MHS. The second features MHS Principal Dr. Riley and Athletic Department Administrative Assistant Nikki Fallon showcasing the front and back of the shirts. The final photo highlights one of the awareness posters placed around the school to spread the message.
The shirts feature a bold design:
Front: "The Blind" in large black letters, with "And Visually Impaired" underneath. Four silhouettes of individuals with canes and a guide dog walk across a crosswalk in front of the Capitol skyline, with "White Cane Day 2024" printed below.
Back: The phrase "Tap, tap, tap all day, everywhere from work to play" appears in white, alongside a large white cane and the same phrase in braille, with poofy clouds floating around.
White Cane Safety Day is observed annually in October to promote the independence of individuals with visual disabilities and advocate for equal access for all. #WhiteCaneSafetyDay #MPSCommunity #AdvocacyForAll

Today, the MHS Business & Information Technology Department, in collaboration with the Marlborough Rotary Club, Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses, proudly hosted the MHS Reality Fair for Marlborough High School juniors. This engaging program provides students with a practical understanding of the financial responsibilities they will encounter in the real world.
At the Reality Fair, students receive a paycheck based on their career choice and make real-life decisions about housing, transportation, utilities, clothing, and more by visiting vendors stationed throughout the event. They'll also face the "Wheel of Fortune/Misfortune," simulating life's unexpected financial twists!
This invaluable experience enhances financial literacy and equips students with the skills to make smarter financial decisions. Special thanks to Jayne Haley, Business & Information Technology Teacher at MHS, for organizing this impactful event!

Dear Marlborough Public Schools Staff and Families,
On Friday evening, the Central Mass. Mosquito Control will be spraying all outdoor school areas including all school fields and playgrounds. They will be spraying ZENIVEX E4 ULV, which is a synthetic pyrethroid that is used to control adult mosquitoes. Notices are also being posted on each school building.
Although EEE has not been found in Marlborough at this time, the city is taking this step to protect students, families, staff, and community members.
Regards,
Mary Murphy
Superintendent
📚✨ For well over 24 years, The First Congregational Church of Marlborough has generously donated backpacks and school supplies to our students, keeping the memory of Katy Mahoney alive. This year, spearheaded by her loving mom, Liz, and Sue Pellerin, the church donated 78 fully stocked backpacks for students in grades K-4, carefully following Marlborough’s supply list to ensure students had exactly what they needed. They also provided additional backpacks and a variety of school supplies for middle school students, including notebooks, folders, binders, pencils, Colors of the World markers and colored pencils, Clorox wipes, tissues, and more.
A huge thank you to Liz, Sue, and the members of The First Congregational Church for your ongoing support and touching tribute to #KatyMahoney. Your generosity makes a lasting impact on our community. ❤️
